TATTOO AFTER-CARE
For Traditional Bandage Dressings -
- All tattoo sessions are appointment-only. I do not take walk-ins.
- I only book flash tattoos of my own designs - new designs are posted monthly, with announcements of when they'll be posted in my instagram stories. Most designs are tattooed once in color and once in blackwork, and they are generally first-come first-served. If you see a design you like during a flash drop, submit a booking form!
- Request an appointment through my booking form. A requested appointment is not a guaranteed booking. Appointments will be accepted based on my schedule availability and current available flash. Your booking is only confirmed once I write back with deposit information and appointment options. If you do not receive an email back, my schedule is full or all of my designs are currently claimed.
- My books are always open, and I typically book about a month or two ahead at a time on a rolling schedule. Further out bookings available per your schedule/travel plans.
- I suggest setting an alarm if you're interested in applying for a flash design, applications come in fast and I do my very best to be fair about dishing the designs out! If you apply multiple times in a row, I take that into consideration too! Sorry it can feel like a mad dash for them, I tattoo at my max schedule capacity and only have two hands and so many spots available each month.
- If you have any questions about booking or my tattooing process, please feel free to email me!
DEPOSITS
- A non-refundable $50 deposit will be taken at time of scheduling, this reserves the tattoo design you selected and your appointment slot. Some designs are offered out more than once, so please dont't be alarmed if you feed your same-claimed design come up in my instagram feed.
- You must begin the scheduling process for your appointment within six months of placing your deposit. I will always initiate appointment scheduling, but if no attempt to schedule your design is made on your part within 6 months time, your deposit is forfeit. You are of course welcome to book much further out than six months (there is no real time limit on when you come get your tattoo) but a discussion on when you plan to schedule your tattoo needs to happen within six months to keep your deposit active.
- This also applies to reschedules - if you cancel your initial tattoo appointment with me it is your responsibility to reach out within 6 months to reschedule your appointment. If no attempt to reschedule is made, your deposit is forfeit. I only have so many appointments spots available each year, and I reserve them for people who are serious about coming to get their tattoo. After initial reach out, it is your responsibility to schedule or reschedule your tattoo. Thank you for respecting my time! :)
- I currently accept deposits through Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App. Final tattoo payment is due in cash at your appointment.
- I do not book open-ended appointments, meaning you can’t reserve an appointment slot/pay a deposit unless you already have a specific flash piece selected.
TATTOOS
- I only book flash tattoos and I typically only tattoo each flash design once in color and once in black; some designs I will offer a few repeats or color variations!
- I am not taking custom tattoo proposals at this time.
- All of my available flash tattoos can be viewed on the “FLASH” highlights on my Instagram. If there isn't a "FLASH" highlight up, it means all my designs are currently claimed.
- Minor details or small changes in colors are negotiable day-of your appointment. If you have specific color changes you'd like to make for your whole tattoo, please email me before our appointment, it helps me work more efficiently and set up my station correctly.
- All the tattoo inks I use are vegan and not tested on animals.
- I do not sell tattoo tickets aka, I don’t let other artists tattoo my work. I just get too many requests for it and at some point it wouldn’t feel like my art anymore. Thank you!
PRICING
- My flash tattoo designs typically range from $250 to $850 depending on color, detail, and complexity. In general, my tattooing rate is $200/hour.
- I will give you a total price estimate for your tattoo based on our predicted size for it prior to our in-person appointment.
TRAVEL
- Travel and guest spot announcements will be made through my newsletter found at the bottom of my booking page. I will also make travel announcements on my Instagram posts and stories.
FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
- I will email you a client consent form prior to your appointment. This form must be completed before your appointment.
- I need a photo of your government ID (drivers license, passport, or a general identification card) Oregon law requires I get a copy of your identification to prove you are at least 18 years of age. I cannot perform "parental approved tattoos" to underage clients in accordance with OR law.
- In the week leading up to your appointment, please moisturize the area you'd like tattooed daily. Ink loves well-hydrated skin! It makes the entire tattooing process go smoother, promotes more vibrate results and helps with ink absorption.
- Please arrive having showered. Drink lots of water and eat a full meal beforehand. Avoid alcohol, drugs, or blood thinning painkillers.
- We have a complimentary water and tea station and candies available for refreshments. Please feel free to bring your own beverage or any snacks you may want. I also recommend bringing a sweatshirt or something warm to cover up with while being tattooed.
- Wear comfortable clothing, being mindful of giving full access to the specific area that we are tattooing. Many tattoos are performed while you are lying down on a massage table, so please keep that in mind for your own comfortability.
- Your own preferred level of modesty in our shop is completely up to you. Tattooing is an intimate job and I do my absolute best to ensure your comfort during your session.
- If you no-call no-show your appointment, you forfeit your deposit and I reserve the right to not rebook you.
- If you need to cancel your appointment for health concerns or any other reason, please email me at your soonest availability.
LOCATION
- DayDream Tattoo: 2426 NE Broadway, Portland, OR 97232
- There is ample free parking in the surrounding neighborhoods by our shop.
PAYMENT
- Tattoo deposits are currently accepted through Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal. The remainder of your tattoo payment is due at your appointment, in cash. I will provide a price estimate for your tattoo before your appointment so you can plan ahead for final payment.
TATTOO AFTER-CARE
For Traditional Bandage Dressings -
- Leave the dressing covering your new tattoo on for at least 2 to 3 hours, if your tattoo included a lot of color fill, it may be best to leave it on overnight. When you remove the bandage, begin the routine of washing your tattoo with a mild anti-bacterial soap at least twice a day or after any raised risk of contamination. Wear loose fitting clothing that will not put major pressure on your tattoo. Let your tattoo initially "dry out" before adding lotions or salves. Do not apply lotion to a tattoo that is still seeping plasma or feels wet to the touch. You want the tattoo to feel as dry as the skin around it before beginning a lotion routine.
- After around 24 to 48 hours, you will begin to apply a thin layer of unscented water-based lotion to your tattoo twice daily following your anti-bacterial soap wash.
- Your tattoo is most vulnerable for infection within the first 72 hours, so treat it better than you would any minor cut or wound and you'll be great!
- Tattoos take roughly 30 days to heal completely (less for finer line-work tattoos). In this time your tattoo with scab, peel, and react much like a sunburn. Lines and shading may temporarily appear blurred or messy during this time, and color may change, darken, or fade, this is perfectly normal and part of the healing process. Things will even back out as your tattoo heals. Continue to apply a thin layer of unscented lotion when your tattoo feels dry to aid in the healing process for a full month (or forever if you love your skin).
- Do not itch, scratch, or purposefully peel your heeling tattoo. This can result in ink loss and permanent scarring.
- If your tattoo ever needs a touch up to restore color or add ink where some fell out, please email me with a photo and we’ll setup a free touch up appointment.
- Leave clear second-skin dressing on overnight. In the morning, if your tattoo has accumulated a sizable bubble of fluid/plasma/ink, remove second-skin bandage, under warm running water to help loosen the adhesive around the edges and separate it from your skin slowly. Remove the bandage by gently pulling the bottom edge downward in the same direction of the bandage (like you're removing a command strip) not by peeling back and away from the tattoo (like you are peeling a banana). Once fully removed, wash your tattoo and surrounding area with anti-bacterial soap, gently brush away residue or congealed body fluid, then pat dry with a clean paper towel.
- If you have a full color tattoo that requires more days of protection - a new piece of second skin can be secured back in place and worn an additional 48 hours.
- You can shower regularly with this bandage, but do not submerge your tattoo in a bathtub or jacuzzi/pool during the healing process. During this time, a small fluid pocket of blood, plasma, and ink may form under the bandage, usually darker in color. Do not worry, this discoloration will not negatively effect the final healing of your tattoo. Your body producing this fluid is perfectly normal and is part of the healing process.
- Once you've removed the bandage, let your freshly revealed tattoo "dry out" for at least a few hours. Do not begin to lotion until your tattoo has had a chance to become as dry as the un-tattooed skin surrounding it. Do not start lotioning your tattoo while it is still moist/fresh to the touch.
- Wash your now exposed tattoo once or twice a day for the first 3 days with anti-bacterial soap. Following washing and drying, apply a thin layer of unscented water-based lotion to help with any dryness. Continue to lotion your tattoo over the next 30 or so days to help complete the healing process.
- If you ever have any additional questions about your healing process, please email me.
- Do not submerge your new tattoo in water for the first 2 weeks. Showers during this time are perfectly fine.
- Do not put your new tattoo at risk of sunburn, it's best to wear loose full-coverage clothing over your tattoo for any time spent in the sun.
- Do not itch, scratch, or purposefully peel your healing tattoo. This can result in ink loss and scarring. If your tattoo feels itchy, gentle tapping and slapping can be helpful.
- If your tattoo ever needs a touch up to restore color or add ink where some fell out, please email me with a photo and we’ll setup a free touch up appointment.
